Jacob Wells, the founder of Gives Endgo, has come under fire following an incident where Karmelo Anthony was alleged to have stabbed and killed Austin Metcalf. This controversy arose after Anthony’s family raised significant funds on the platform.
The full details of the incident are still unfolding, yet Wells stands by his choice to feature Anthony, citing his Christian beliefs and conservative values.
“I’m sure you remember Kyle Rittenhouse,” Wells remarked during a conversation with Jason Whitlock on “Jason Whitlock Harmony.” He reflected on how Rittenhouse’s campaign was removed from multiple platforms, including GoFundMe, and how misinformation surrounding it proliferated in the media.
“That’s a biblical standpoint,” he explained, noting that the platform aimed to provide an avenue where campaigns wouldn’t be canceled like they often are elsewhere.
This approach attracted supporters for various causes, including a campaign for Canadian truckers and that of Daniel Penny, which, according to Wells, reflects a desire to uphold the principle of innocence amid public scrutiny.
While discussing the situation surrounding Anthony, Wells pointed out the misconceptions and distorted narratives that are spreading, especially regarding alleged misuse of funds for lavish purchases. He expressed concern that these misrepresentations fuel unnecessary racial tensions.
Wells, who aligns himself with conservative and Christian values, acknowledged, “The facts aren’t painting a pretty picture for Carmelo Anthony,” adding that when foundational principles begin to erode, it affects everyone involved.
