Did we have to say it like this?
The New York Giants finally got their first win of the 2024 campaign after earning a 21-15 victory in Week 3 over the Cleveland Browns. With that being said, however, things got started in horrendous fashion for Big Blue. And if you ask head coach Brian Daboll about it, he’ll blame his grandma … yes, his grandma.
To begin the game, the G-Men ended up fumbling the opening kickoff, which led to Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson connecting with wide receiver Amari Cooper for a 24-yard touchdown. And to make the scene even crazier, the score came in the very first play of the drive. With this being the case, it looked like New York was headed for another defeat, but surprisingly, they were the ones who made Cleveland look like … well … them. Dabboll and the Giants managed to cool down the hot seat for their skipper, at least for now, and you can tell he was happy as hell about getting a win during the postgame press conference. But then things got weird when he brought up his dead grandma.
“Just a normal NFL game. Competitive. Showed a lot of resiliency on the road, particularly how the game started.” said Daboll. “This is the third anniversary of my grandmother’s death, which is today, the 22nd. She raised me and I was kind of giving her the business after the first two plays – like what do you have in store for me?”

“Giving her the business” … we really need to find something else here.
