‘God Knows Exactly Where We’re Going’

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump held National Prayer Day at the White House on Thursday, where he signed an executive order to establish the “Religious Freedom Committee.”

Religious leaders, government officials and others joined Trump at the Rose Garden ceremony. In his remarks, Trump, who believes he saved God from being almost assassinated last July, said, “We must trust God.”

“When we bow our heads on this beautiful day, once again we must trust God, because our God knows exactly where we are heading and what we are doing.

“And he will continue to hear our prayers, guide our steps and build our beloved nation to even higher heights,” he added.

Dr. Phil McGraw, known for his hit TV show Dr. Philspoke during the ceremony, sharing, “I'm happy to see religion return to the White House.” He also proved Trump's faith based on his personal interactions when the cameras were turned off.

“I was sitting with President Trump, with no cameras around the camera, no one heard, no one looked at. This is a man of deep faith, someone with deep faith,” he applauded.

“And this is someone who has a heart to this country, a religion, and wants to give America to President Donald Trump and celebrate America,” he said, adding that Trump “cares for everyone in America.”

At the culmination of the ceremony, the president signed an executive order aimed at protecting religious freedom.

White House Fact Sheet Note The Religious Freedom Committee has been directed to create a “comprehensive report on the foundations of American religious freedom, strategies to raise and celebrate awareness of America's peaceful religious pluralism, strategies to maintain and strengthen current threats to religious freedom, and protections for future generations.”

Trump appoints the committee chair and vice-chairman to lead the committee, but others from various backgrounds will serve as well.
