Gold medalist Carlos Yulo accuses mom of stealing in feud over girlfriend

Carlos Yulo has enjoyed two golden eras at the Paris Games, but his personal life hasn’t been as glittering as his Olympic medals.

Following her Olympic appearance, the 24-year-old Filipina athlete accused her mother, Angelica Yulo, of embezzling prize money backdated to the 2022 World Gymnastics Championships.

“My mother had access to my account and my monthly sports allowance,” Carlos said on TikTok.

“My mother had access to my account and my monthly sports allowance. When I finally got control of my account I found out she had been withdrawing money.”

Yulo claimed to have made remarks exposing Angelica’s withdrawal.

To make matters worse, Angelica appears to dislike Carlos’ girlfriend, Filipino model Chloe Angely San Jose.

“She didn’t like Chloe from the beginning, even though she’d never met or seen her,” Carlos said.

“Our relationship deteriorated when I started to set boundaries. I loved Chloe and I stood up for her.”

So Angelica was understandably absent when it came time to celebrate the Euros where he tripled the Philippines’ medal tally from one to three and became the first Filipino man to make it onto the podium.

“Chloe and I grew up in different environments,” Yulo explained.

“Chloe grew up in Australia so she knows the Australian culture. The way she moves, talks and dresses is completely different to how she does in the Philippines.”

The superstar received a lot of attention and recognition for his performance at the Olympics.

Between Euro’s amazing performance and the criticism directed at Angelica, everything that’s been going on has forced her mother to issue an apology.

“The money was given to me,” Angelica told The Sun.

“As a mother, I was worried that my children might face financial difficulties in the future, so I invested in my own name.”

Yuros’ mother reportedly peppered the message with kind words.

“Son, I’m sorry. I know some of you may think I’m only talking to you for your success,” Angelica said.

“As a concerned mother, I ask for your forgiveness. You are mature enough to make your own decisions. Regardless of your financial situation, our doors are always open.”

I can’t take back what I said, but when you come home and are ready to resolve this issue, your father and I are ready to have an understanding discussion.”
