The Olympic scheduling challenge is resurfacing. With over 116 events squeezed into just a little more than two weeks, choices become overwhelming, especially when events clash.
So, what’s the strategy when faced with deciding between ice hockey, figure skating, or skiing? You might pick one but try not to overlook something else exciting happening simultaneously.
This year, with the 2024 Summer Olympics on the way, the structure will change, but Milan-Cortina looks set to bring a familiar challenge back to the forefront.
For anyone who hasn’t heard, let me introduce you to “Gold Zone.”
What is “Gold Zone”?
“Gold Zone” is a feature that highlights key moments from the Olympics live, focusing especially on gold medal events. It’s inspired by the “NFL RedZone” format, which showcases significant plays during NFL games. While the show might cover multiple events at once or even up to ten live broadcasts, “Gold Zone” usually zeroes in on one event at a time, concluding each segment with live coverage.
Scott Hanson, known for his work on Red Zone, will host “Gold Zone,” with personalities like Andrew Siciliano, Matt Isman, and Jack Collinsworth rotating during the broadcasts. Additionally, Ashley Wagner, a bronze medalist in figure skating from the 2014 Sochi Games, will also contribute to the show.
When is “Gold Zone” held?
The “Gold Zone” is scheduled to stream live daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET until the Winter Olympics wrap up.
How to watch “Gold Zone” on Peacock:
You can find the Olympics section at the top of the Peacock platform, where “Gold Zone” and other live content will be available. You can also catch “Gold Zone” on-demand later.
Peacock offers two subscription options: a lower-cost plan that includes ads for $10.99/month or $109.99/year and a premium version without ads for $16.99/month or $169.99/year.
As the Olympics are live, you might want to consider the ad-supported version, since you’ll see ads similar to those on cable. A one-month subscription is required to access the entire Olympic coverage.
What is Peacock Multiview?
Besides the “Gold Zone,” Peacock also offers multi-view streams for certain events. The main multi-view feature lets you watch four key events at once, allowing you to select which one you want to hear audio from. It also includes useful information about the streamed events.
