Golden Tate Discusses Feud with Jalen Ramsey
Former Giants receiver Golden Tate has opened up about his very public feud with Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey, which first flared up during an incident on the field in October 2020.
In a recent episode of the “Bussin’ With the Boys” podcast, hosted by Taylor Lewan and Will Compton, Tate elaborated on the ongoing tension. “He and one of my twin sisters have two children together,” he shared. “Now, there have been things in that relationship that my sister feels she shouldn’t have to endure. So when that happens, who does she turn to?”
The family drama first caught attention on social media back in October 2019 when a photo of Ramsey with a new girlfriend surfaced. Tate reacted to a fan tweet suggesting he confront Ramsey, stating, “He knows he has to meet me.”
Fast forward to October 4, 2020, when the Giants and Rams clashed. The tension boiled over quickly on the field.
After the game, a significant altercation occurred, which included Tate and Ramsey. “As soon as we step out there, he starts packing me first. I’m like, ‘Okay, this is how it’s going to go,’” Tate recalled. “Whatever I do, I can’t afford to take a penalty or lose money. I have to keep my head straight. I’m in his face, expressing my confusion, and he’s doing the same.”
Following the Rams’ 17-9 victory, tensions escalated. Tate mentioned, “After the game, I was running towards him, and he tried to shake my hand, but then…” He struggled to finish the thought, his frustration evident.
When it comes to his current relationship with Ramsey, Tate emphasized the need to keep things civil for the sake of their children. “We haven’t talked, but I think we both agree to avoid being troublemakers because of his daughter and my niece… That’s where we’re at,” Tate expressed.
Ramsey, who traded to the Dolphins in March 2023 after winning Super Bowl LVI with the Rams, has also commented on the situation. He recalled, “We knew what we were doing. That’s his sister. Sure, he should worry about that, but I have my life to manage too.”
Tate, meanwhile, hasn’t played since signing with the Titans’ practice squad in November 2021 and being released in January. It’s intriguing how the unease between these two players continues to evolve.
