Golden Tate loves the new Detroit Lions

of detroit lions It's a lot of fun now, but it wasn't always like that.

At one time (basically up until last year), the Lions were considered a not-so-good team in the National Football League. They were consistently underpowered and had very few high-profile players willing to sign there in free agency. However, that doesn't mean always.

Here's a guy who picked the Detroit Lions as a free agent ahead of the 2014 season and helped rebuild the organization, paving the way for it to get to where it is today. That person was Golden Tate, a wide receiver who recently won a Super Bowl. seattle seahawks.

Recently, thanks to our friends at Smirnoff, we were able to talk to Golden about what he's been up to lately. That included some pickleball-related fun on the day this post was published. Golden explained his current status with Smirnoff early on, and later in the conversation he touched on his thoughts on the Lions.

September 27th, Golden Tate, a local Detroit football legend has partnered with Smirnoff SMASH Vodka Soda to bring the Smirnoff SMASH Series to Ann Arbor, Michigan. Fans will have the opportunity to play alongside Golden on Wolverine Pickleball's Smirnoff SMASH Pickleball Court.

In addition to flavorful competition, pickleball fans and players 21 and older will enjoy free snacks from food trucks, DJ entertainment, a bar stocked with four bold and unexpected flavors of Smirnoff SMASH Vodka Soda, and SMASH merchandise. You can enjoy it.

Finally, I asked Golden who he'd be rooting for on Monday night when the Seattle Seahawks and Detroit Lions face off. Considering he had great moments with both teams. Interestingly, Tate has virtually stated that he considers himself more of a Lion than a Seahawk. As it turned out, he had the best answer and said he was just rooting for the home team in cases like this. In my opinion, that's rather smart.

Thank you Golden Tate and Smirnoff.
