Golden Tate shares information about his 2020 confrontation with Jalen Ramsey.

Former NFL receiver Golden Tate has opened up about his ongoing feud with Miami Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey, marking the first time since their on-field altercation in 2020 that he’s discussed it publicly.

In a recent appearance on the podcast “Bussin with the Boys,” hosted by Taylor Lwan and Will Compton, Tate recounted the heated exchange that took place while he was playing for the New York Giants, which would turn out to be his final season in the NFL.

For context, Ramsey had a previous relationship with one of Tate’s twin sisters, which ended while she was pregnant with their second child. Tate expressed uncertain feelings about this, saying, “Now I don’t think my sister is over it, and I really don’t think she should be treated that way.” He mentioned the need for a resolution, stating, “And when that happens, who has to see it? You have to see the big guys.”

The feud heated up after Tate reacted to social media posts in October 2019 that featured Ramsey with a new girlfriend. A fan suggested that Tate should confront Ramsey, to which he replied, “He knows he has to meet me.” Their anticipated meeting occurred during a game when the Giants faced the Rams in Los Angeles. Tate described initial exchanges during the game as charged. “We started to move back and forth almost immediately,” he recalled.

Despite being a low-scoring game, the tension peaked when Tate approached Ramsey. An altercation ensued with both teams getting involved. “We went out there and right away, first of all, he’s overcrowding me,” Tate said, emphasizing the physically charged nature of their encounter.

As he approached, Tate said, “What happens? I’ve seen where he’s. I put my helmet on, and he swings, but I dumped him because he was about to shake.” Ramsey later reflected on the confrontation, acknowledging the complexity of their situation while also emphasizing his own professional responsibilities: “That’s his sister. That’s what he has to do. But you care about your business too.”

Five years after the incident, Tate and Ramsey have not reconciled; however, they appear to have found some common ground concerning their children. “We’re not talking. But I think we both agreed that we’re not knuckleheads because of the improvements of his daughter and my niece,” Tate explained, summarizing their current relationship as one of unspoken respect.
