Goldie Hawn Celebrates Son’s Birthday with Heartfelt Message
Goldie Hawn recently shared a playful photograph to commemorate her son Oliver Hudson’s birthday. In the image, which captures the two looking out at the ocean, Goldie, at 79, can be seen in a black one-piece swimsuit while Oliver wears a black speedo featuring his name on the back.
In the caption, she expressed, “Happy birthday, Oliver. Every moment I’m with you is a blessing. You captured my heart with our first Hello!” This sentiment was well-received by fans, many of whom reacted with birthday wishes and hopes for Oliver to land a sitcom role this year.
Another fan humorously quipped about Oliver’s speedo, saying, “You still put his name on his underwear? You’re kidding!” Meanwhile, Kate Hudson, Oliver’s younger sister and actress, took to social media as well to share her own heartfelt tribute.
She penned, “49th happiest 49th day for my brother – also a fiercely loyal friend with the inappropriate joke poet award, the prince of chaos, and somehow the most devoted father,” highlighting the close-knit nature of their family.
Goldie is the mother of Oliver, 49, and Kate, 46, with her ex-husband Bill Hudson. The couple was married from 1976 until their divorce in 1982.
Following her split with Bill, Goldie began a relationship with actor Kurt Russell in 1983. The two originally met back in 1966 and have since starred in several films together. They welcomed a son, Wyatt, in 1986, adding him to Kurt’s two sons from a previous relationship. Interestingly, despite being one of Hollywood’s longest-lasting couples, they have never married.
“It’s not about marriage; it’s about people and relationships and their will to stay together,” Goldie reflected in a past interview. “And that’s a big thing.” Their bond seems to have also extended to Oliver and Kate, making for a close family dynamic.
Oliver once mentioned on a podcast co-hosted with Kate that Kurt played a significant role in his upbringing, noting how formative that relationship has been in his life.
