Golf legend John Daly had a comical mishap recently while at La Paloma Country Club for the Cologuard Classic. During his attempt to take a shot onto the green, he lost his balance and ended up sliding down a sandy slope. A few bystanders rushed down the hill to check on him, which, honestly, could have turned out much worse.
Fortunately, Daly emerged unhurt but decided to share the amusing incident online. He even added the theme music from the “Jackass” series to the footage, calling it “About today’s episode of ‘jacka**.'” At one point, he jokingly exclaimed, “My stomach is flappin’ in the desert,” while his caddy, Joel Cooley, hurried down to him.
While Daly might not usually throw in a belly roll during his rounds, he remains a significant figure in golf, continuing to participate mostly on the Champions Tour, which is for players over 50. Just the other day, he tied for 29th at the Cologuard Classic, finishing at 6 under par.
In other news, just before the upcoming Kaulig Companies Championship at Firestone Country Club, Daly was awarded the 2026 Ambassador of Golf Award. This honor is given to those who have made notable contributions both on and off the course. He expressed gratitude in a press release, saying, “I have always loved this game and what it has given me. Golf has taken me to places I never imagined and introduced me to amazing people along the way. I am truly honored to receive the Golf Ambassador Award.”
It’s hard to forget Daly’s impact on the sport, from his powerful drives to winning major championships, including the 1991 PGA Championship and the 1995 British Open at St. Andrews. His vibrant personality shines through in both his achievements and lighthearted moments like this one.
