Best quotes from the US Open Thursday
“It’s so awful out there. It’s a testament to my perseverance,” Bryson DeChambeau said of the difficulty of Pinehurst’s second hole.
“It reminds me a little bit of the links golf I played as a kid. The greens are a little more sloped, there’s a little more movement, but you have options. You can chip, you can putt. I wish I could play more golf courses like this,” Rory McIlroy said of why he loves Pinehurst.
“He’s a strike show. It was actually the first time I played against him. He’s not just a rookie. He’s not even your average top-tier player playing in major tournaments. He’s already been on some of the biggest stages and proven he can be a world-class player. It’s been fun to watch,” Tony Finau said about playing against Ludvig Auberg.
