A Mississippi man allegedly bit off another man’s nose after the two got into a heated argument over a golf game, according to police.
The incident unfolded Monday night when officers with the Bay St. Louis Police Department received a call around 9:30 p.m., about an assault. Authorities arrived at the Hollywood Casino parking lot and found a victim with a “disfiguring facial injury.”
Authorities said 51-year-old Mark Curtis Wells had engaged in an argument with the victim over a golf game that had been played at Bridges Golf Course. The argument lasted throughout the day “amongst several of the golf participants until it culminated in the casino parking lot,” the police report stated.
That’s when Wells allegedly bit the victim’s nose off before fleeing the scene in a Tesla, police said. (RELATED: Beyond Meat Executive Arrested For Allegedly Biting Man’s Nose In Road Rage Incident)
Wells eventually turned himself in and was charged with felony mayhem, according to WXXV 25. If found guilty, Wells could face up to seven years in jail, according to police. Wells was booked in the Hancock County jail Wednesday, and was released roughly an hour later after a judge set his bond at $50,000, according to the Sun Herald. Wells paid the 10% down on his bond, according to WXXV.
The victim’s nose was not found and the victim was taken to a nearby hospital, according to WXXV 25.
The investigation remains ongoing.
