Golfer comments on the PGA Championship’s course while referencing the Kardashians

Hunter Mahan achieved his best result at the 2014 PGA Championship, tying for seventh place. This year’s championship will take place at the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, which is set to welcome professional golfers beginning Thursday. Ahead of the opening round, Mahan shared an intriguing insight about the golf course.

The 42-year-old expressed satisfaction with the course’s condition leading into this key event of the 2025 season. However, he mentioned that it needed something more and made a rather colorful comparison. “I think Quail Hollow is like a Kardashian,” Mahan remarked. “It’s very modern, beautiful, and well-maintained. But it has no soul or character.”

Dean Barmester also weighed in on Quail Hollow, calling it a “monster” while admitting his experience was limited to playing it virtually. “I’ve never seen it, but I’ve played it on the PlayStation a number of times. It’s a monster, right?” he noted.

Barmester tied with Rory McIlroy and others for 12th place at the 2024 PGA Championship. McIlroy recently won the Masters, marking a significant milestone in his career.

Each year, the PGA Championship rotates locations. Quail Hollow last hosted the tournament in 2017 and has also been the site of the Wells Fargo Championship multiple times, as well as the 2022 President’s Cup.

Xander Schauffele secured victory in last year’s PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky. There were inquiries made to representatives of the Kardashians regarding Mahan’s comments.
