Daniel Brown’s Unique Style at the PGA Championship
Daniel Brown certainly brought a retro vibe to the PGA Championship on Saturday.
After hitting the 12th hole, the British player was seen enjoying a cigarette, a quirky addition to his growing reputation on the golf course.
Known for his mid-round smoke breaks, Brown even stopped to snap a selfie with a fan named Casey Halpern, who later shared the moment online.
“There’s nothing quite like lighting up after the 12th hole with Dan Brown,” Halpern tweeted. “Maybe there’s no one quite like him on the tour. A true man of the people.”
This isn’t the first time Brown’s habits have caught attention; back in 2024, he made waves during the British Open Championship at Royal Troon, notably seen smoking while leading the pack.
Brown humorously admitted to sneaking a couple of cigarettes during rounds, describing it as “a bit of a bad habit” or a “coping mechanism.” It’s interesting how small habits can become signature traits, I suppose, even in competitive sports.
Despite starting the day at two over following a double bogey on No. 4, Brown rallied towards the end, making birdies on his last three holes for an even-par 70.
Yet, that wasn’t quite enough to push him up the leaderboard. Going into the weekend with just a one-stroke lead, he ended the day outside the top 50, sitting at three over for the tournament.
