Several good Samaritans in Florida are being hailed as heroes for stopping a would-be robber who authorities say attacked a woman in a Publix parking lot on Monday.
A 65-year-old woman was “assaulted” outside a store on Boyette Road in Riverview, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. Riverview is a suburb located approximately 22 miles southeast of Tampa.
The suspect, identified as 42-year-old Robert Moore, allegedly knocked the woman to the ground and stole her car keys.
According to the sheriff’s office, three witnesses who saw Moore push the woman to the ground immediately rushed to the woman’s aid.

One good Samaritan called 911, and two others restrained Moore until deputies arrived.

“The Good Samaritan’s quick actions reflect the strength and unity of our close-knit community,” Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a written statement.

Moore was taken into custody and charged with robbery by sudden snatching, assault and battery on a victim over 65 years of age. He remained jailed as of Wednesday morning, according to online records.
