The Social Security Agency (SSA) has announced that no payments will be distributed between May 5th and May 12th. Those receiving benefits such as retirements, individuals with disabilities, widows, and veterans will have to wait until May 14th for their payments.
May is shaping up to be one of the months with the latest payment schedule for Social Security this year. As is often the case, retirees who started getting benefits before 1997 received their payments earlier this month on May 2nd, rather than the usual third.
Additionally, this month features a double SSI payment since June 1st falls on a Sunday. Consequently, the payment will be made early on May 30th, totaling up to six payments from the SSA this month.
