Google has been accused of being “woke” with a new Christmas ad featuring a “non-binary” beauty influencer.
An online ad for Google Shopping shows TikTok star Cyrus Veyssi searching for skin care products on Google services.

London wrote about the ad: “Google launches WOKE Christmas campaign featuring men wearing women's clothing complaining about their skin.”
In the ad, Veissi appears wearing makeup and women's clothing and complains about dry skin.
“It's been really dry this winter, especially when you have so many things to do on your days off. Thankfully, that's all I know,” said Veissi, searching for products on Google Shopping. Ta.
“Moisturized skin is a gift to everyone. No wrapping required. Happy holidays,” the influencer says, as the Google Shopping logo appears on the screen. The ad was also shared on Veyssi's Instagram account.
Veyssi, 30, has recently been featured in several media publications on the rise of social media influencers and is also the co-host of the Amazon Prime talk show “Influenced.”
The content creator, who goes by the pronouns “he/him” and “they/them,” has amassed over 1 million followers on TikTok and Instagram by posting humorous videos about family relationships and promoting beauty products. A Google spokesperson told Fox News Digital that the post was just one part of a broader campaign featuring dozens of smaller social media influencers.
“Everyone wants to find good deals and save money, which is why we promote Google Shopping as the best way to do that. Objectively, this is a sponsored single of Instagram posts, representing a small percentage of the much broader Google Shopping campaign,” the spokesperson said.
Last month, luxury car brand Jaguar also faced backlash after announcing a new rebrand with an ad featuring androgynous models.
