summary

  • Google Search is starting to offer personalized interactive financial charts and information.
  • Users will be able to inquire about stock groups and make comparisons between companies.
  • Currently, this feature is accessible only for users in the US participating in a testing program.

Google Search is becoming increasingly beneficial for individuals involved in stock and mutual fund investments. The latest updates allow users to compare companies and access interactive financial charts that present customized stock graphs from a single search.

This new feature taps into Google’s latest advancements in artificial intelligence. You simply need to ask about stock groups or request company comparisons, and an automated chart will appear. A helpful explanation will accompany the chart as well. For now, it is rolling out in the US through Google’s experimental lab program.

Google simplifies financial tracking

With this upgrade, using Google becomes more intuitive. If you enter a request like “Compare the performance of major consumer goods companies in 2024,” Google will generate a chart comparing these companies’ performances across the specified timeframe. Plus, you can follow up with questions like, “Did any of these pay dividends?”

The response will come with an interactive chart along with a clear summary using both current and historical data. If spreadsheets and stock tickers seem daunting to you, this feature is made to simplify that experience.

This initiative forms part of a broader rollout of Google’s AI capabilities within search. It operates seamlessly in the same app you use for regular searches. Once active, the AI mode will manage more complex queries and refine the outcomes into organized visual formats.

Google has slowly transitioned beyond just providing standard blue links in its search results. This enhancement is particularly practical, allowing users to receive tailored responses including charts, summaries, and links—all without having to navigate through financial websites or company pages. Currently, this feature is limited to users who are signed up with Search Labs and is available only in the US, along with needing the latest version of the Google app. However, once it’s up and running, it promises to be an incredibly powerful addition to searching.
