A new investigation by the Media Research Center alleges that Google has repeatedly interfered in U.S. elections, favoring left-wing candidates and suppressing conservative voices.
Google, the hyper-woke tech giant that dominates online search and advertising, has been accused of an astonishing pattern of election interference in 41 cases over 16 years, an intelligence agency reported. A shocking report from the Media Research Center (MRC). The investigation, conducted by MRC’s Free Speech America Division, alleges that Silicon Valley giants are systematically using their vast technological power to sway election results in favor of left-wing candidates. It raises serious suspicions.
“MRC researchers have found that Google has interfered in elections 41 times over the past 16 years, and its impact has increased dramatically and become increasingly harmful to democracy. “Google has harmed candidates, regardless of party, who have threatened left-wing candidates of their choice,” said Dan Schneider, vice president of Free Speech America at MRC, and Gabriella, editor of the division. The study cited a number of obvious violations, ranging from algorithmic manipulation to outright censorship. Among the most damning claims are that Google supported Barack Obama over Republican rival John McCain in 2008 and Mitt Romney in 2012, and that it smeared Rick Santorum in the 2012 Republican primary. These include refusing to correct derogatory “Google bombs” and filtering out potentially damaging autofill results. He extended the same courtesy to Hillary Clinton in 2016, but not to Donald Trump or Bernie Sanders.
Additionally, researchers found that Google disabled Tulsi Gabbard’s ad account during the 2020 Democratic debates, suppressed negative coverage of Joe Biden, and suppressed most of the coverage in the competitive 2022 Senate race. It claims to be actively supporting Biden’s 2024 campaign by hiding Republican campaign websites and “embedding them in search results.” I checked the campaign websites of all his major opponents. ”

The study’s authors argue that this pattern of misconduct extends far beyond just isolated incidents. “Google has leveraged the many tools we have to support those closest to our leftist values, from election cycle to election cycle since the 2008 presidential election. “The company targeted candidates for censorship,” he said, accusing the company of making election interference its “organizational mission.”
To support these claims, the study cites research by Dr. Robert Epstein, who found that while Google’s algorithms likely shifted at least 2.6 million votes to Hillary Clinton in 2016, , concluded that its “results and voting reminders favored Democrats and shifted voting results.” The difference in the 2020 election results is at least 6 million votes. ”
Google vehemently refutes this claim, insisting that it has robust safeguards in place to ensure unbiased and accurate search results. A Google spokesperson told Fox News Digital: “There’s nothing new here. We’ve reused a list of many baseless and inaccurate complaints that have been debunked by third parties and lost in court. “We have a clear business incentive,” he said, adding: “We have a clear business incentive.” We want to ensure that everyone can continue to use our products, and we do not intend to make them biased or inaccurate. ”
