Donald Trump has just received another huge boost.
Nevada Republican Governor Joe Lombardo has endorsed Trump and said he plans to caucus for him.
Nevada Republican Governor Joe Lombardo says he supports Donald Trump and plans to caucus for the former president on February 8th.
Lombardo first made the announcement Thursday morning in an interview with the Nevada Independent.
The first-term governor said during the state presidential primary on Feb. 6 and the state Republican caucus two days later that he would “not vote for any of these candidates” in the former president's caucus.
“We need President Trump’s decisive leadership back in Washington, D.C. He will oversee record economic success, implement a strong foreign policy, and ensure that law enforcement officers are treated with the respect they deserve.” That's what he did.”
President Trump endorsed Lombardo in 2022.
The Associated Press reported:
President Trump supported Lombardo, a former sheriff, during his 2022 gubernatorial bid, helping him win the primary over a crowded field of Republican candidates. Lombardo tried to distance himself from the former president during a general election debate, but at a rally the following week he called him “the greatest president.”
Lombardo had been steadily denouncing Trump's false claims that the 2020 election was stolen.
Lombardo told the Nevada Independent that he plans to caucus with Trump on Feb. 8 and write “None of the Above” in the Feb. 6 presidential primary.
