GOP governors rally behind Texas as Abbott defies Biden: ‘Dereliction of duty’

Top Republican governors across the country have expressed support for Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who is defying President Biden in an effort to stem the flow of illegal immigrants across the U.S.-Mexico border.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis vowed to “continue to support Texas with personnel and assets as the crisis continues,” while South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem accused Biden of a “dereliction of duty.” Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt also declared his state “on Texas' side.” . ”

“If the Constitution truly removed the power to protect states from invasion, it would never have been ratified in the first place, and even if it had been ratified, Texas would never have joined,” DeSantis said on social media. wrote.
