GOP Needs to Stop Fighting Amongst Themselves

CNN Republican commentator Scott Jennings said Friday during the network's special coverage of the House speaker vote that Republicans need to stop fighting “within the party.”

Jennings said: “You know what struck me about this conspiracy? This is all a bridge to nowhere. I mean, all these people are voting no, they're voting yes. What the heck are the Republicans? Are you doing this for a reason?”

He added: “I think this is probably Donald Trump's frustration and why he's spending so much time and effort trying to get Johnson elected here. There's no other choice, there's no this vote. Take your vote. There is no alternative. Today. Only Johnson can do that. And the sooner he does that, the better off Trump will be, and the better off the Republican Party will be. We elected to do things instead of fighting among ourselves.

Jennings added: “They want to run against someone. There are a lot of Democrats they can run against. So I hope that message is getting through. People have policy preferences and I know this and that is pissed off, but nothing can be fixed until leaders are elected, so I hope this happens with the first vote today.”
