Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Pennsylvania) on Thursday called on the government to take immediate action to address increasing reports of unexplained drone activity in suburban Philadelphia.
The lawmaker explained that his action was to seek assurances from local residents that the Washington government was doing everything it could to allay fears of increased sightings.
He wrote to X that his main concern was the safety and security of local residents.
Today, I sent an urgent letter to DHS, FBI, and FAA asking for immediate answers and decisive action regarding the increasing number of reports of unexplained drone activity. The safety and security of our communities, our neighbors, and our nation depend on the transparency and accountability of the federal agencies responsible for keeping us safe. I will continue to be vigilant in uncovering all the facts regarding this ongoing case.
Fitzpatrick said the mysterious drones that have been flying over parts of New Jersey and the northeastern United States in recent weeks are not only not controlled by the U.S. military, but are also believed to be controlled by foreign organizations. The move comes after the Department of Defense said there was no such thing.
Despite these claims, the Pentagon can't say exactly who is actually controlling the drones that are causing havoc and concern along the Atlantic coast, as reported by Breitbart News.
The Pentagon also denied claims by Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-N.J.) that an Iranian “mother ship” located “off the east coast of the United States” is launching mysterious and unidentified drones. .
More drones?! More mysterious lights seen in New Jersey's night sky
Sabrina Singh, a Pentagon spokeswoman, said: asked If there was “some truth” to the claim that Iran “mother-shipped” a drone allegedly carrying an unmanned aircraft that was spotted in New Jersey and Staten Island, New York about a month ago.
“There's no truth to that. As Breitbart News reported, there are no Iranian ships off the coast of the United States, and there are no so-called motherships launching drones toward the United States,” Singh explained.
Several New Jersey lawmakers, including Republican state Sen. John Bramnick and Rep. Thomas Kean Jr. (R-N.J.), have also launched investigations into the drone sightings and called the “growing problem” serious. I am asking you to make this happen. will be dealt with.
