R-Texas Rep. Keith Self said at this week's Congressional hearing that he has no obligation to engage in McBride's “fantasy” after calling Delaware Democrats “McBride.”
While discussing this issue, the self referred to McBride, who used male pronouns to identify as transgender women.
“Well, Michael, I'm a retired green beret. I don't even know what all the fuss is,” the self told Daily Wire conservative commentator Michael Knowles during an interview.

“I mean, he's allowed to live his life. In fact, I spent 25 years active in the work to defend his right to live his life when he chose. But I don't need to be involved in his fantasy,” Self said.
When McBride acknowledged the lawmaker for his floor speech last month, Rep. Mary Miller, who called McBride “Mr. McBride, a Delaware gentleman,” agreed in X's post, saying, “You shouldn't be forced to go with Democrats' delusions, to be precise.

During a hearing Tuesday, where McBride chaired the House Foreign Affairs Committee's European Subcommittee, he called himself “Madame Chair” and recognized McBride as “Mr. McBride, Delaware Representative.”
Bill Keating, D-Mass, ranking member of the subcommittee. halted hearings on the issue and asked himself to introduce McBride to the “right way.”

“I will not continue the hearing with me!” unless I introduce the right elected representative in the right way!” Keating was declared.
In response to the ultimatum, the self was declared “this hearing has been postponed.”
“No matter how I'm treated by my colleagues, there's nothing to reduce my adoration and gratitude for representing Delaware in Congress. It's truly a lifelong honor and privilege. I simply want to make this world a better place,” McBride tweeted Tuesday night.
