Tom Tiffany Raises $10 Million for Wisconsin Governor Bid

Republican Representative Tom Tiffany from Wisconsin has reportedly gathered $10 million in his campaign to become the state’s governor. This information comes exclusively from Breitbart News.

Ahead of the upcoming campaign finance report deadline, Tiffany’s team revealed that he has raised over $10 million since taking office. Contributions have come from all 72 counties in Wisconsin, with support from more than 10,000 small donors. During the latest reporting period, from January 1 to June 30, Tiffany raised more than $8 million and has nearly $3 million in cash as he enters the next reporting phase.

Tiffany expressed his thoughts on the growing grassroots movement, emphasizing that it’s present in every county. “The need for common-sense leadership has never been greater,” he stated, adding that people in Wisconsin are frustrated with increasing government, costs, and bureaucracy. They want a governor who can reduce taxes and eliminate red tape. The widespread support, he said, is deeply humbling.

Following the election of Lieutenant Governor Sara Rodriguez, who is also a major Democratic candidate for governor, Tiffany’s campaign has been eager to highlight its fundraising success. Recently, it was disclosed that Rodriguez had far less cash on hand than anticipated just a few weeks before the August 11 primary. She faced significant issues with her campaign’s financial reporting, leading to her campaign manager’s dismissal after finding multiple discrepancies in expenditure reports.

Rodriguez expressed her disappointment about the situation, claiming she had been misled by her campaign manager. She remarked, “I am hurt, angry, and deeply disappointed in the person I trusted to run my campaign.” She insisted that if she were trying to hide something, she wouldn’t publicly address the errors.

Tiffany took the opportunity to criticize Rodriguez’s campaign mismanagement, questioning her ability to handle tax-related matters. His remarks pointed to her inability to accurately track her campaign finances as a reflection of how she might manage the state’s finances.

Rodriguez has also indicated that she is working with the Wisconsin Ethics Commission to amend a January report involving last year’s donations and expenditures.

In the Democratic primary, Rodriguez faces several challengers, including Francesca Hong, Mandela Barnes, state Senator Kelda Roys, and Joel Brennan, who previously served as chief of staff to Governor Tony Evers.

The Republican primary appears less competitive, suggesting that whoever emerges as the Democratic candidate will likely confront Tiffany in the general election scheduled for November 3, 2026.
