GOP Senator Roger Marshall Equal with Democrat Adam Hamilton in Strongly Conservative Kansas: POLL

As of Monday, the race for the Senate seat in Kansas, typically a Republican stronghold, is showing an unexpected tie. The polling average from RealClearPolling indicates that Republican Senator Roger Marshall and Democratic nominee Adam Hamilton are both sitting at about 45.8%. It’s worth noting that the last time Kansans elected a Democrat to the U.S. Senate was back in November 1932, when George McGill secured re-election.

The Senate Leadership Fund, a prominent Republican super PAC, is gearing up to invest $14 million to bolster Marshall’s campaign. This investment follows significant spending in other states like Texas, Iowa, and Ohio, typically areas where Republicans wouldn’t have to allocate such resources.

Marshall has been facing some backlash recently due to reports about his past, specifically a lawsuit he filed against over 700 patients for outstanding medical debts while working as an OB-GYN, resulting in 81 arrests, according to The New York Times. Additionally, he recently paid a bakery $1,300 after the owner accused his 2020 campaign of failing to settle a nearly $700 bill for six years.

In a post on X, Marshall acknowledged the debt, claiming he had no knowledge of how it went unpaid for so long. He mentioned, “As some folks may have seen, there was a post on social media regarding an unpaid 2020 cookie bill. We have absolutely no idea how this happened, but rest assured as soon as it became known to us, we immediately attempted to contact the business in order to apologize, and we have repaid the bill from 2020, double.”

Meanwhile, the Senate Majority PAC, which is the campaigning arm for Democrats, has initiated a $5 million television ad campaign statewide that will continue until Election Day. This move suggests that Democrats are becoming increasingly optimistic about their chances of flipping the seat. One of the ads criticizes Marshall for his vote against a measure that would have required the Department of Justice to disclose files related to the late Jeffrey Epstein. According to the PAC’s findings, ads concerning Epstein tend to sway elections by three to six points in favor of Democrats.

On the Republican side, the Senate Leadership Fund has reserved $10 million for ad placements leading up to Election Day, with an additional $5 million also being spent to assist Republican Senator Darline Graham in South Carolina, where she holds a narrow lead over her Democratic rival.

In an interesting twist, Republicans have collectively funneled around $200 million to support Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who, by the way, is currently trailing his Democratic opponent, James Talarico, by about two points. Also, Elon Musk is reported to have contributed at least $276 million to Republican organizations and his super PAC since July, though some sources claim the actual figure could be significantly higher.

In a strategic shift, Republicans have slowed their spending in competitive states like North Carolina, focusing their efforts primarily on red states instead.
