Former Trump communications director Anthony Scaramucci said Thursday on CNN's “Anderson Cooper 360” that President-elect Donald Trump's first attorney general nominee, former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), is running for the Republican Senate. He claimed it had been rejected by lawmakers. A “lame duck” before taking office.
Guest host John Berman asked, “What do you think Hegseth and the president-elect think about the graphic details of this police report that were revealed during Pete Hegseth's nomination and confirmation hearings?” spoke. What do you think will happen?
Scaramucci said: “So I want to be completely clear that I worked with Pete. I had a good relationship with Pete, but it looks like Anna is up to something. Republicans, this I think it's like the Apprentice White House arc from Season 2. I think the party is ready to shift gears a little bit here and embrace Donald Trump. I also think that if Donald Trump is a lame duck, there's only one more credible election and that's the midterms. Remember, I think they will rebel.”
He added, “I think he'll get past less than 50%. I think Republicans are playing a much different tactic in the Senate than the Trump transition team expected.”
