Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) argued Thursday about the “deadline” for MSNBC if President Donald Trump continues to impose tariffs and Republicans “throw him off a wreck like a rat.”
Host Nicole Wallace said, “I mean, the other thing that happened is the sharp drop in the approval ratings of Donald Trump. He is 41% overall approval, down to 40% of the economy. Tariffs are lower than that.
Schiff said, “Well, if he had continued, if he continued along this tariff, destroy our economy, destroy our self-harm in our economy, then Republicans are going to abandon him like a rat from the wreck. It's unsustainable. You've already begun abandoning Republicans.
He said, “It's not just Republicans, but they're not only talking publicly, they're voting against the president, but the more we can see, the more we're trying to see the destruction he brings to our economy. The president's aides were out there after this latest flip-flop, so the president's aides were out there. The deal.”
