Gov. Kevin Stitt says ‘hate speech’ of protesters won’t be ‘tolerated’ in Oklahoma

Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt (R) said “hate speech” by pro-Palestinian protesters would not be “tolerated” in the Sooner State and that he would ban Hamas supporters from the state’s universities.

Stitt said so many pro-Palestinian protesters have been arrested at universities across the country, many of them from Israel and Hamas, that began in the wake of the deadly Oct. 7 terrorist attack in Gaza. He was asked if it bothered him that he was criticizing military operations. There are approximately 1,200 Israelis.

“First of all, I don’t think it’s the majority. I think it’s a very small minority who are very vocal,” Stitt told Fox News’ Fox & Friends on Monday morning. co-host Brian Kilmeade.

Oklahoma’s governor said he hopes all young people can see the footage of the Oct. 7 terrorist attack.

“They need to be held accountable,” he said. “I wish every young person could see the GoPro camera video from October 7th. There was literally a youth concert going on and people with machine guns came and mowed them down. I started it.”

Universities across the country have had to deal with pro-Palestinian protests on campus, with students setting up encampments at some schools. The students are calling for an end to military aid to Israel and a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

After appearing on Fox News Monday morning, Stitt reiterated his claims about “hate speech.”

“If you’re working with these terrorist groups, it’s time to get your head checked,” Stitt said. post on social media platform X. “Free speech is everything in Oklahoma. But hate speech will not be tolerated.”
