Government-funded office that held standoff against DOGE on ‘right path’ following judge’s order: admin

The Trump administration said the US Institute of Peace (USIP) is on the “right path” to enforce the president's enforcement actions after judges ruled the administration's support following an office standoff with the Government's Efficiency (DOGE) team.

“The US District Court ruling affirms the president's clear authority to ensure that the US Institute of Peace (USIP) operates in partnership with executive directives,” the Trump administration told Fox News Digital on Thursday. “This decision strengthens the President's commitment to accountability, transparency and effective governance.”

District Judge Beryl Howell on Wednesday rejected a request from USIP to grant Doge a temporary restraining order alleging that he “violated a literal trespass and a “literal trespass and acquiring” of the constitutional headquarters building.

The USIP lawsuit called for “immediate intervention by this court to stop the defendant from completing the illegal dismantling of the institute and irreparably preventing the plaintiff's ability to carry out the appointed important peace promotion and dispute resolution work of Congress.”

USIP is an independent national institution funded by Congress, established under the Reagan administration in 1984 to promote peace and diplomacy on the international stage. The institute recently struck headlines across the country after the Trump administration fired 11 of its 14 board members after a government-funded office called for a reduction in Trump's executive order from February to a statutory low.

The White House unleashes “fraudulent bureaucrats” after agency head refuses to enter headquarters

“President Trump has signed an executive order to reduce USIP to a statutory minimum,” said White House spokesman Anna Kelly. “After the violation, 11 board members were legally removed, and the remaining board members appointed acting president Kenneth Jackson.”

The remaining board members include the Secretary of State. Marco RubioDefense Secretary Pete Hegses and National Defense University President Peter Garvin fired George Moose, acting president and CEO of the Institute on Friday.

Jackson and the Doge team tried to enter the Peace Society building in Washington, D.C. over the weekend, but were denied access by laboratory employees, administrative officials told Fox News Digital.

The standoff was raised Monday when Jackson and the Doge team were trying to get admission to the building again, and Moose accused them of breaking into the building.

The Metropolitan Police Department reported that it received a call from a US lawyer's office around 4pm that day regarding an ongoing incident at the lab and reported it to the scene.

“MPD members met with the acting USIP Chairman, providing MPD members with a document that he is acting USIP President, and all powers have been delegated to that role by the USIP board,” the police department said in a news release of the incident on Monday. “The acting USIP president advised MPD members that they had refused to allow fraudulent individuals to leave the building and to provide access to the facility.”

“MPD members went to the USIP building and contacted individuals who authorized MPD members within the building,” the release states. “As we entered the building, the acting USIP president requested that all unauthorized individuals in the building take leave.”

Jackson was able to enter the building upon police intervention. Moose left the building safely and no arrests were made, police said.

“With Jackson being legally appointed as representative president, USIP is currently on the right path to fully complying with the President's February 19 executive order and protecting the American people's responsibility,” executive officials told Fox Digital on Thursday.

Musk and Doge have another perfect target: more taxpayer-funded, anti-American media

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said at a press conference Wednesday that staff physically barricaded the building.

“There was a coordinated effort among the unauthorized bureaucrats of the United States Peace Institute to prevent political appointees of the building's administration, to prevent political appointees of this administration who work in the direction of the US president, to actually physically barricade them within the building,” she said.

There are no signs

“They barricaded the doors, they also disabled telephone lines, internet connections and other IT infrastructure within the building. They distributed flyers internally, and encouraged each other to essentially prevent these individuals from accessing the building,” continued Leavitt. “This is resistance from bureaucrats who don't want to see the change in this city. President Trump was elected on the overwhelming mission of seeking change and implementing change. This is an unacceptable action.”

The White House says federally funded news services “use your money to promote foreign propaganda.”

A similar standoff occurred between Doge and the US African Development Foundation when bureaucrats banned representative chiefs of US international development agencies, Peter Marrocco and building members. The foundation is an independent governmental body founded by Congress in 1980, and, according to its website, supports “Africa-owned and Africa-led companies.”

Ward Bream, chairman of the US African Development Foundation, was fired by the administration earlier this month., He then filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration, asking the district court to ban him from exclusion from his position.

A federal judge denied Bream's request. Marrocco has been appointed acting chair of the board of directors of the American Foundation for African Development.
