Queens Grandma Identified in Incident Involving Gotti Family
Kathy Gabrielli, a 60-year-old resident of Howard Beach, was involved in an incident in June that has drawn attention due to her connection with the grandchildren of John Gotti, known as the “Teflon Don.” The event took place on June 2nd outside her home on 84th Avenue.
Reports suggest that Kathy was attempting to mediate during a confrontation involving John Jr. and Frankie Gotti, who were reportedly engaged in a dispute with Kathy’s son, Gino.
Kathy declined to comment on the situation when approached recently, stating, “No, thank you, I’m not really interested.”
Gino Gabrielli, 32, shared that his mother was accidentally struck in the arm by one of John Jr.’s punches while she was trying to separate the two men. He indicated that the police intervened quickly and broke up the scuffle.
Gino recalled seeing a large police officer nearby, who, surprisingly, did not attempt to intervene. “He was just standing there watching,” Gino noted.
The altercation apparently escalated after Gino and his mother approached a white Mercedes-Benz SUV. Insults were exchanged between Gino and John Jr., with Gino calling his brother derogatory names in return.
Gino, visibly shaken, commented, “Yeah, I don’t really remember much. I ended up punching my own face out of instinct. It felt like I was seeing stars.”
Following the fight, John Jr. and Frankie faced charges of assault and harassment related to the incident. Both have pleaded not guilty and are scheduled to appear in court again on August 7th.
The family rivalry appears to stem from ongoing disputes, with accusations that Gino had previously invaded John and Eleanor’s shared property, allegedly taking several items, including earrings and a watch. Gino, however, denied any theft beyond some cash.
He mentioned that John Jr. had borrowed money from their grandfather for rent just two months prior and implied issues of unfaithfulness against John Jr. regarding Eleanor. “My sister found him cheating with someone. She kicked him out, and he stopped paying rent,” he recalled with frustration.
Interestingly, Gino confessed to having previously damaged property at one of the Gotti tattoo parlors in anger, stating, “I smashed a souvenir on the ground—just shattered it in front of everyone.”
Gino expressed concern over family dynamics, particularly regarding their elder relative, Gino Sr., and how the younger Gotti descendants reacted in situations involving family matters.
When asked to comment on Gino’s accusations, Frankie Gotti’s attorney dismissed the claims outright. Meanwhile, inquiries directed to John Jr.’s lawyer went unanswered.
