Tim Walz's family, who live in Nebraska, posed for photos wearing “Nebraska Walz Supports Trump” shirts.

Since the dawn of time, politicians have relied on their families for support, advice, and the appearance of kinship. While family members sometimes publicly cut ties with a candidate's relatives, it's almost unheard of for an entire family to do so. And that's exactly what's happening now to Tim Walz.
Minnesota Governor and Democratic vice presidential candidate Waltz was formally rejected by his Nebraska family, eight of whom posted a group photo wearing matching shirts that read, “Waltz Supports Trump.” The bold photo went viral on the Internet Wednesday morning, following news of prominent conservative figures abandoning their families. State cattle farmer Charles Herbster was one of the first to share the candid photo, tagging the accounts of Donald Trump and Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) and using the hashtag #SaveAmerica.
Walz, who joined the Democratic nominee last month, has become something of an eyesore for Vice President Kamala Harris as a series of bad news stories emerge about his leadership and past. The two spoke out in a joint interview last week, pushing back against accusations that the governor had a shaky military record, a controversy fueled by Megyn Kelly on Monday. A former Minnesota National Guardsman who served with Walz has accused him of being a “salary stealer” and a “military impersonator.”
To make matters worse, the governor's brother, Jeff Waltz, recently posted on Facebook that he would not be voting for his relative in the November election. In a chilling post captured by the Daily Mail, he wrote “a story I can tell,” adding that Waltz “is not the type of person voters want in the White House.” Urged by his followers to “speak up at this critical moment in history,” the Florida native explained how difficult it was to consider going public with his personal concerns about his brother's leadership qualities. “I've thought long and hard about doing something like that! I'm torn between doing it or not involving my family,” Jeff said. “A story I can tell. Not the type of person I want making decisions about my future.”
Trump responded to the photo on Truth Social:
Thank you so much Jeff. I'm honored to receive your recommendation and I look forward to meeting you again soon.
