Dock workers in the Eastern and Gulf Coast approved a six-year contract on Tuesday.

The deal avoided a potential strike.

8newsnow.com reported:

Dock workers in the eastern and Gulf Coast overwhelmingly approved a six-year contract on Tuesday, avoiding the threat of a strike that could cripple the economy.

The vote for Jesus was anticipated after the leadership of the International Longshoreman Association reached a temporary contract agreement with the US Maritime Alliance and the shipping company in January.

The alliance approved the contract last month, and on Tuesday, Rank and File members voted in favor of nearly 99%, the union said in a statement.

The deal requires a six-year, 62% wage hike, and is expected to raise hourly wages from $39 per hour to $63 per hour at the top of the Union Payscale.

Alliances and alliances have also reached a ceasefire over automation, the most controversial labor issue in the American dock. Unions are worried that machines, especially semi-automatic cranes, will replace human workers. Port operators and shipping companies claim that US ports are lagging behind more automated ports like Rotterdam, Dubai and Singapore.

Trump celebrated the deal and thanked them for their support.

True Society:

Congratulations to US dock workers on your great new deal. We also thank you for your overwhelming support in the presidential election. Slowing automation a little is something you should do!!! DJT
