Green Energy PAC Focuses on Ralph Norman in South Carolina Senate Runoff

Green Energy PAC Targets South Carolina Senate Runoff

A political action committee focused on green energy is making a substantial investment in South Carolina’s Republican Senate runoff, aiming to unseat U.S. Rep. Ralph Norman. The Investing for Tomorrow Coalition PAC has announced it will allocate at least $1 million to this race, labeling Norman a “traitor” to the clean energy movement.

“Our goal is to stop Norman, but also to convey a broader message to Congress—that if they threaten our industry, we will definitely push back,” stated Tom Mazzi, the PAC’s president and CEO of CleanChoice Energy.

The PAC’s frustration stems from Norman’s support for eliminating the green energy tax credit included in the GOP’s Working Families Tax Cuts legislation.

Earlier this month, the PAC successfully contributed to the primary defeat of Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.), without mentioning Ogles’ stance against the Green New Deal, instead promoting him as a conservative alternative.

In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News Saturday, Norman commented on the PAC’s role:

The Washington elite is ready to spend another million dollars trying to take me down, and I’m ready for it. We will fight and win this race because we’re the only candidates with a proven track record—my record speaks for itself.

An advertisement from the Investing for Tomorrow PAC criticizes Norman, claiming he “betrayed President Trump” by backing Nikki Haley in the 2024 presidential primary, labeling him a “MAGA traitor” for opposing the president’s choice of Sen. Graham Nordon in the runoff.

The PAC’s advertising contrasts sharply with its stated mission.

As mentioned by sources like Axios and Politico, the group advocates for renewable energy while simultaneously launching deceptive attacks on conservative lawmakers who supported phasing out green energy tax credits from the Biden administration.

The anti-Norman advertisement, alleging his lack of support for President Trump, was produced by a notable Democratic consulting firm. The Investing for Tomorrow Coalition PAC has spent upwards of $1.4 million with Tusk Strategies to develop and manage these anti-conservative ads. Tusk Strategies is run by venture capitalist Bradley Tusk, who has previously collaborated with former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.).

Both Norman and Graham Nordon have accepted invitations to debate ahead of the runoff, which is scheduled for Tuesday, August 18th at 7:00 p.m.
