Greene claims Trump and the GOP promised 'America First,' but instead provided 'America Last'

Former Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has suggested that Republicans are likely to lose control of the House and possibly the Senate in the upcoming 2026 midterm elections. She believes that both President Trump and the Republican Party, while advocating for “America First,” have ultimately failed to deliver on that promise.

In a recent interview, Greene, who was once a strong supporter of Trump but has since become critical, expressed her views. She stated that “Americans are suffering,” and added that “both parties are completely failing.” She even went so far as to say, “the system needs to be burned down.”

She mentioned the issues Americans face today—sky-high gas prices, increased credit card debt, soaring health insurance premiums, and the general high cost of living. Greene criticized politicians for making poor decisions that led to these problems, emphasizing the everyday struggles of citizens.

Greene further stated that, in her view, Republicans would fare poorly in the midterm elections due to what she perceives as a betrayal of their foundational promises, asserting that Democrats prioritize issues like immigration and transgender rights over the needs of American citizens.

FOX News Digital has sought comment from the White House regarding Greene’s remarks.

Despite her past allegiance to Trump, Greene described a disconnection between voters and the politicians they are expected to support. Her frustrations were evident, expressing anger over what she sees as betrayal to the American people and calling out politicians for their failures.

In her conclusion, she mentioned that many Americans are turning away from traditional institutions and looking towards alternative lifestyles like homeschooling and self-sufficiency, suggesting these methods as a way to navigate the current political landscape. She reiterated her belief that the present system needs radical change.
