Greenland's tourism business has revoked its invitation to Second Lady Ushavance after Vice President J.D. Vance said she would join her on a visit to the island.

Based in Nuuk's Greenland capital, Tupilak Travel is Facebook On Tuesday, Usha Vance's once scheduled visit was cancelled after “training consideration.”

“When the US Consulate called yesterday and asked Usha Vance, the wife of the US vice president, on Friday, if she could visit our store, we replied that she was happy,” the business wrote.

The store said “everyone is welcome in the store,” but they followed up and the second lady said it wasn't.

“But after careful consideration, we told the consulate that we didn’t want her to visit, because we couldn’t embrace the underlying agenda and of course not part of the press show that comes with it at all.

The US delegation, including Usha Vance, White House national security adviser Mike Waltz and energy secretary Chris Wright, are scheduled to depart for Greenland on Friday.

However, on the same day, Tupilak Travel announced that the second woman was not welcomed, and Vice President Vance said he would join his wife on the trip.

“I was so excited about Usha's visit to Greenland this Friday that I decided that she wouldn't want that much fun for herself, so I'm going to join her,” Vance said in the video. Post x.

Vance said he would travel to Pitafik to visit the US Space Force 821st Space Station Group.

He also said, “I want to check what's going on in Greenland security.”

“We want to reinvigorate the safety of the people of Greenland because we believe it is important to protect the safety of the whole world,” the Vice President said.

“Unfortunately, I think both the American and Danish leaders have been ignoring Greenland for a long time. It was bad for Greenland. It was bad for the safety of the world too. I think we can take things in a different direction.

Greenland leader Prime Minister Mute B. Egede expressed his dissatisfaction with the visit before Vance decided to tag the US on a show of “very aggressive” power.

“The very aggressive American pressure on Greenlandic society is now so severe that we can't go high,” Egede was furious at the end of Sunday as the news broke.

“Until recently we were allies and friends and we were able to trust Americans who we enjoyed our work closely, but that time is over.”

The Prime Minister also wondered why Waltz went on a trip.

“The only purpose is to show us strength,” Egede fumes. “His mere presence in Greenland will undoubtedly burn fuel beliefs about Trump's mission, and the pressure will increase.”

President Trump repeatedly said the US had taken the island through economic incentives and power, and earlier this month he made a statement to a joint Congressional meeting that America “gets it in some way.”

Greenland was a Danish colony from 1721 to 1953 until its autonomy was limited.

In 2009, the island gained further powers related to minerals, police and law, but it still relies on Copenhagen authorities, with foreign, monetary policy and security.

Greenland is also part of the European Union and NATO as Danish territory.

Danish Prime Minister Mette Fredericksen told Reuters that the visit of the US delegation was “to take it seriously.”

“The visit is clearly not something Greenland needs or wants. President Trump is serious. He wants Greenland, so (this visit) cannot be seen independently of anything else,” Fredericksen said.

However, she made it clear that Denmark and Greenland intend to maintain “allies” with the United States.

“We are allies. There is no indication that we don't want to work with Americans in Denmark or Greenland.”
