Greg Laurie Says House of David Sparks Evangelistic Opportunity

“I think this is one of the biggest evangelistic opportunities in recent history,” said Laurie, founder of Harvest Crusade. Christian Post. “Millions of people have heard the Bible stories for the first time through the 'house of David' and 'chosen'. There are no films in place of the gospel or the Bible. If it doesn't inspire people who have never read the Bible or want to know more, this is not something we should be criticising and we should not celebrate. ”

David's Houseit is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime. This is a historic drama that examines the biblical accounts of David and King Saul in 1 Samuel. Michael Iskander will play David in the series, while Ali Sliman will play King Saul. Ayelet Zurer plays Saul's wife, Ahinoam Queen. Stephen Lang plays the Prophet Samuel. Indy Lewis plays Saul's daughter, Mycal, while Martin Ford plays Goliath, the Philistine giant.

Laurie, who served as a consultant for the series, 30 Days of Prayer It highlights David's journey of life and faith that comes with the series.

“For me, it seemed… David effectively kept his diary,” Laurie said. “He put many of his thoughts on paper. Perhaps many were originally songs. But it was called the poem sal book – David's diary. He is very honest. He laments and corrects his own thoughts.”

He also discussed his long-standing friendship. David's House Filmmaker John Irwin;Jesus “Revolution” emphasized Laurie's conversion to Christianity in the Jesus movement of the 1970s. The film was released in theaters in 2023 and went to the box office, earning $54 million worldwide for a production budget of $15 million. Laurie said he would support what Irwin next, because of his craftsmanship and commitment to the Bible.

“If he's passionate about something, I'd be good,” Laurie said. “He wants to tell biblical stories cinematically. I spend most of my time teaching the Bible. What a great concept.”

He also addressed some of the concerns the opinions have. David's House Artistic freedom was taken in some of the scenes that are not found in the Bible.

“In the first episode of “David's House,” David was injured by a javelin thrown by Goliath. People say, “It never happened in the Bible,” Laurie pointed out. “But the Bible is not a script for a film. It is the inspired word of God. When you say it as a story, the filmmaker may take certain freedoms.”

The pastor shared how Ben Hur had a major impact on his life when he was 17, regardless of his fictional portrayal of Jesus Christ. “It opened my heart and my heart,” he recalls. “The movie went to me and I heard the gospel later.”

Nevertheless, he encouraged viewers of these faith-based shows to not replace the Bible itself. “Their hope is that you will see the show and then go read the Bible,” he said.
