LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman has been at odds with the PGA Tour for years. As a result, the Tour has put Norman’s invitation to the 2023 Masters on hold.
Still, that didn’t stop “The Shark” from appearing on the field at Augusta National this week.
On Wednesday, he was seen walking the course during a practice round. We previously reported that Norman slipped through the gate in an unexpected way as a patron.
Thursday, Greg Norman Jr. posted on social media To confirm what many had suspected.
yes. This is all true.
My father bought a ticket on the secondary market to attend the Masters as a patron. He was directly rejected after going through the appropriate professional channels. He just had to be there to support the LIV players.

“Yes. This is all true.”
“My father bought a ticket on the secondary market to attend the Masters as a patron. He was directly rejected after going through the appropriate professional channels. To support the LIV players, He just had to be there,” Norman Jr. wrote to X.
Many are aware of the tension between Norman and the PGA Tour due to the current state of professional golf. But beef goes far beyond that, dating back to the late 1980s.
Norman was angry at being asked not to play in South Africa during apartheid in 1987, saying, “They’re trying to make me pledge not to play golf in South Africa. Well, they might go to hell.” I can’t. I’m a professional golfer, so I’ll play wherever I choose.”
Friction between the two countries has been simmering for decades. But Norman’s move to LIV Golf, and his vocal support for it, gives the tour the material it needs to keep him at bay.
Unless, of course, you buy tickets on the secondary market, as he did again Thursday.
he was discovered Sports Illustrated’s Bob Harig followed Rory McIlroy’s group on the course.
Meanwhile, my son finished his post as if he was putting golf first, only adding one jab at the end.
“The epic Masters is here. Four days to put all the BS behind you, sit back and watch LIV players win green jackets.”
