Rep. Greg Pence (R-Ind.), the brother of former Vice President Mike Pence, announced Tuesday that he will not seek reelection.
“In 2017, I ran for Congress because I was ready to serve again,” Pence said in a statement posted to X (formerly Twitter).
“As a former Marine, I approached this job with a purpose,” he continued. “After serving three terms, I have decided to apply for re-election.”
He added, “For the remainder of my term this year, our team will continue to be focused on providing excellent voter service,” adding, “For the remainder of my term this year, our team will continue to focus on providing excellent voter service.” He said it was a “privilege and an honor” to represent the district. He was served several terms as president by his younger brother, the latter becoming vice president of the United States.

Mr. Pence's announcement came after fellow Republican Congressman Larry Buchshon of Indiana also announced his retirement from Congress.
“The Bible teaches that there is a season for everything. During the Christmas holidays, with much insight and prayer, I knew clearly that it was time to end my season in public service. ” he announced in a statement. A lengthy statement posted to X on Monday.
“Therefore, I will not seek re-election for an eighth term and intend to end my service in the House at the end of the 118th Congress,” he added.
