LOS ANGELES, CA – Ambassador Rick Grenell gives federal, state and local leaders a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Standards to Slow the Cleanup and Reconstruction Process after La Fires He said he would not tolerate it.
“That bullshit can't happen,” Grenell said, saying he heard that debris removal subcontractors are behind as they are trying to find the “good mix” in terms of DEI requirements.
“If I hear about a particular instance, I'll highlight them,” he warned. “That bullshit won't happen, okay? We want people who can come here and remove things. I don't care about their skin color, I don't care if they're in a wheelchair or not. No. We want people to be able to do their job and get it done, and don't hold on because there are some quota systems.”
He said those who advocate such standards are simply “out of the way” to rebuild the area.
Grenell toured the devastation in the Pacific Ocean at Pallisard, along with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) administrator Lee Zeldin (first week of work). and Major General Jason Kelly of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Bob Fenton, regional administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and Karen Bass, LA Mayor.
Gernell, representing the California ground-based White House, brings the president's leadership and focus, urging federal, state and local government agencies to work faster and address residents' concerns. Ta.
Zeldin asked about the role of the EPA in its cleanup efforts, which is to remove dangerous materials from combustion sites. Under Zeldin's leadership, the EPA has shortened its cleanup timeline from 90 to 30 days in Los Angeles. The so-called “Phase 2” removal of the fragments carried out by the Army Corps of Engineers and civilian contractors can begin.
General Kelly told Breitbart News that the Army Corps of Engineers' initial assumption would be 18 months before all debris is removed from nearly 7,000 destroyed structures on 24,000 acres. “I'm going to talk to you right now. I'm going to hit the whole year.”
He said the sense of urgency applies not only to Pallisad and Malibu in the Pacific, but also to Altadena and Pasadena. The latter community was heavily hit by the Eton fire, which burned at the same time as the Palisade fire.
