The director of the new work is The Chronicles of Narnia Adapted for Netflix, she has been a fan of the series since she was a child, but said she was “intimidated” by the project because of its significance.
Greta Gerwig — best known as the director. barbie (2023) similarly lady bird (2017) and Little Women (2019) — Selected to direct Netflix's live-action adaptation of C.S. Lewis' popular novel.
A release date has not been announced.
“I'm a little bit scared because I have such respect for Narnia,” she says. Said BBC Radio 4 Today. “I loved The Chronicles of Narnia Just like when I was a kid. As an adult, C.S. Lewis He is also a thinker and writer. She feels threatened if she does something like this. That feels like something worth being threatened about. ”
She added: “As a non-British person, I feel a special desire to do it right. … It's just that when Americans perform Shakespeare, there's a bit of a sense of respect and perhaps it needs to be treated with special care.” I feel as if there is. It is not our compatriot.”
The Chronicles of Narnia Web report Gerwig will likely write and direct at least two films. The Chronicles of Narnia Movies for Netflix. The title has not been announced.
Netflix Film chairman Scott Stuber said Gerwig was the right director for this large-scale project.

As I said, we don't have the intellectual property, so if we have the opportunity, [to license] those books and [Roald Dahl Co.] We jumped on it to have stories that people would recognize and the ability to tell those stories. Disney made three movies based on the novel over a decade ago.they were The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005), TThe Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (2008) and TThe Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Herald (2010).
