Brandon Clark, a forward for the Memphis Grizzlies, was arrested on Wednesday in Arkansas. His charges include speeding and possession of a controlled substance.
Grizzlies head coach Tuomas Isalo commented on the situation, stating, “I’m aware of the report, but I have no comment to make,” just before the team’s game against the New York Knicks.
Clark was taken to the Cross County Jail and faces various charges including improper traffic conduct, possession of a controlled substance, eluding, speeding, and trafficking in a controlled substance.
Clark, who has played seven seasons and is a product of Gonzaga University, was ruled out for the entire 2025-26 NBA season after taking part in only two games. Initially, he was dealing with a right knee surgery, and later sustained a strain in his right calf, which has limited his presence on the court this season.
The Grizzlies indicated late last month that Clark was still in recovery from his injuries. Unfortunately, recent evaluations showed that he requires additional time to heal properly. His anticipated return is set for the next season.
Drafted 21st overall by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2019 NBA Draft, Clark was traded to the Grizzlies shortly after, where he has played ever since. During his rookie year, he had a notable performance, averaging 12.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game, earning him a spot on the 2019-20 All-Rookie Team.
Clark has primarily served as a depth player for Memphis, starting in just 50 out of the 309 games he has participated in throughout his career, averaging 10.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game.
