A group known for its anti-Israel sentiments has come under scrutiny for allegedly encouraging the recent takeover of Columbia University Library. This organization referred to the actions of Elias Rodriguez, a shooter at the Jewish Museum, as an “act” of “love,” sparking further controversy.
On Friday, the group posted on X, “Escalate for Gaza and bring the war home,” adding that what Rodriguez did was a demonstration of solidarity with Palestinians.
In a rather perplexing statement, they suggested that if this seems outrageous to an observer, they should reflect on their own complicity in the plight of malnourished children connected to broader geopolitical issues.
Rodriguez, 31, from Chicago, was recorded on surveillance footage committing a violent act against a Jewish couple, Jaron Lisinski, 28, and Sarah Milgrim, 26, outside the Capital Jewish Museum. This incident followed an event aimed at promoting peace.
Minutes after the shooting, Rodriguez reportedly identified himself as the shooter and exclaimed, “Free, free Palestine!”
Fields Unification, the group in question, has been known to circulate materials that glorify Palestinian terrorists. This specific leaflet was produced after an anti-Israel protest that took place on May 7th.
