Florida Governor Ron DeSantis criticized prominent US Democrats in response to a question about the threat of climate change during a CNN debate in Iowa.

“This is what they're talking about: Joe Biden says global warming is worse than nuclear war. And I'm thinking, hey, John Kerry didn't give up his private jet. No,” DeSantis said. Wednesday night during the final Republican debate before the Iowa caucuses.

“Obama isn't giving up his beachfront mansion on Martha's Vineyard. I haven't seen Biden do anything to hold China accountable, but make sure Hunter gets the money.” Except that. That's why these people speak one way and act in another.'' I think that's wrong. ”

DeSantis added that liberal climate change policies would “destroy” communities “especially here in Iowa.”

“If reliable energy production is shut down in this country, we're going to see rolling blackouts,” DeSantis said. “Emissions have fallen significantly in Florida, and it's not because of a single mandate. It's because of technological innovation, and a lot of natural gas has replaced coal. We have installed base solar power and that is a compliment, but we cannot walk away from reliable energy.”

“And I think this is what the left wants to do: They want to take your freedom away from you and make you pay more for everything.”

Kerry, currently the Biden administration's special presidential envoy for climate change, has come under intense criticism from conservatives for continuing to fly around the world on private planes lamenting the effects of climate change.

Kelly refuted those claims during a House hearing last year, denying that he “personally” owned a private jet.
