Gwen Stefani is getting serious about her journey to motherhood.
In an interview with nylon magazinethe “Hollaback Girl” singer talks about her battle with anxiety after giving birth to her first two sons in quick succession, how postpartum struggles affected her career, and why the birth of her third son He talked about whether it was the beginning of his life. Ms Stafani, who had two sons, Kingston in 2006 and Zuma in 2008, with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale said: “Having two kids changes things.” She said, “I had nothing left in me. I had no ideas. I was so anxious. I was like, ‘Help me!'”

At the time, No Doubt had just finished their Sweet Escape tour and were spending hours in the studio working on their next album, Push and Shove. The thought of balancing his job and motherhood weighed heavily on the Grammy Award winner.
“I would be away from my family, and if I didn’t come home singing, I’d be like, ‘Oh my God, I’m such a loser — I didn’t have dinner with my family. I didn’t write the songs. “I wasted an entire day of her life trying to get back to No Doubt,” she recalled.
“I look at it now and think, ‘God, what was I doing to please everyone?'” “I mean, honestly, I should have been with my family. But we… I did that and I have some good songs…don’t remind me. I don’t want to talk about it.”
In 2014, Stephanie gave birth to her third son, Apollo.

“Most things in life surprised me,” she told Nylon. “One thing I’ve learned is to be present in the moment and try to absorb what’s going on around me, instead of looking ahead.”
The two, who married in 2021, have been at the center of rumors of a rift since their marriage.

“When you’re in love and your values are truly aligned, no one can come close to us,” she said. “You can say whatever you want about our relationship because a week ago we were divorced again or whatever. That’s just a lie. The truth is the truth and we don’t know what it is. I know. So, [negativity] If I were vulnerable and just shared a song that wasn’t written for anyone but me and Blake, it would never sink in. ”

Ultimately, Stefani said that while she’s learning how to balance work and home life, she’s always found herself relying on the most consistent thing in her life: music.

“I said to Blake the other day, ‘What I don’t understand is, how do you write a record when you’re a mother and a wife?’ Everyone was like, ‘What took you so long?’ You might think so.Yes, I want to meet you. Find five seconds to be creative. It’s very hard to force that into your life. I think that’s why it’s even more special than before. It’s like when a baby is just born and someone says, “Oh my god, I have to dye my hair,” or “I have to take a bath today.” That’s what playing music means to me. That’s very selfish and special. ”
