Cal Gets Schooled on Sports
Cal finds himself puzzled as callers reach out to discuss sports he’s never even heard of, including one that involves wizards. It’s a rather bewildering situation for him.
Well, here’s the thing: I didn’t get to go to the Mini Golf Masters, which is pretty disappointing.
Tragic, right?
I was all set for the three-day tournament, originally planning to attend the finals on Saturday. I even had plans to interview some competitors and craft a piece for OutKick.
Always hunting for that content!
So, I woke up on Saturday to a rainy Myrtle Beach morning. I put on my waterproof shoes and rain gear, ready to head to Hawaiian Rumble—the renowned mini-golf course with its spectacular 40-foot volcano.
It was then I learned, to my dismay, that the finals had actually taken place on FRIDAY instead, as the rain was about to hit. So, I completely missed it.
Devastating, really. No putt-putt for me, and I ended up watching college football at a beach bar instead.
However, we did have a fantastic time in Myrtle Beach overall. I’ll share more about that and my epic kayaking adventure soon on OutKick OutDoors.
In the spirit of sharing some highlights, let’s dive into some Nightcaps.
Hailee Steinfeld Spotted at Monday Night Football
Hailee, of course, is the wife of Bills quarterback Josh Allen. Just a heads-up: we’re going to discuss a few WAGs today.
This feels more pleasant than tackling the other pressing topics dominating my feed right now:
- A shocking video of a tiger attacking a man being circulated.
- Shane Gillis making derogatory comments about women at the gym.
- Kelly Clarkson engaging in a public spat with a magic shop over a $15,000 robotic bird.
So, we’ll focus on Hailee Steinfeld having quite the reaction during the Bills’ intense game against the Rams.
Cameron Brink was there as well, not as a WAG but simply because I’m a fan and wanted to highlight her.
What a game, right? As a lifelong Dolphins fan, I can’t help but wish ill on the Buffalo Bills and those doing belly flops onto plastic tables in the parking lot. But, at the same time, it’s refreshing to witness some actual football from time to time. That’s exactly what we got at SoFi Stadium.
And the football played by the Chargers? Well, that’s a different story altogether.
I can’t believe the Dolphins have to compete for draft picks with Mike McDaniel, who’s gone coast to coast and is still giving us trouble.
The Titans are also part of this mix, and they’re asking fans to pay a premium to watch them in their new gigantic stadium next year. Hilarious, isn’t it?
Now, back to the WAGs.
Chad Ochocinco Talks Madison Beer & WAG Culture
On a recent episode of the Nightcap podcast, Chad Ochocinco/Johnson and Shannon Sharpe discussed Justin Herbert’s struggles this year, wondering if his engagement to a famous influencer was distracting him.
Chad even shared a photo of Madison Beer, completely taken aback by her beauty. “Oh wow! I don’t usually take my coffee with too much cream, but I get it,” he exclaimed.
Fair enough.
Justin Herbert is facing intense scrutiny online, especially starting the season 0-5 with a handsome paycheck of $262.5 million. That’s bound to bring out the critics.
Meanwhile, it seems his girlfriend might not want to hear the harsh critiques.
Enter Allie Neuzil, wife of Falcons center Ryan Neuzil. She took to TikTok recently expressing her frustrations.
“On game days, I search my husband’s name on Twitter to see what ridiculous comments are being made about him,” Allie revealed. “And I’m not supposed to respond, but I really want to.”
She goes on to say she types out her retorts without sending them, pondering if her feelings are normal. Probably not, but that’s her truth.
It’s unclear if these rules are self-imposed or if they stem from some league directive. Regardless, we’ve seen some players’ partners bend the rules before.
A fun throwback to Gisele’s comments about Tom Brady not being able to throw and catch the ball at the same time!
Now, let’s go to the mailbag.

Myrtle Beach, Brock Purdy & Adorable Dogs
CF from Kansas writes: “Your trip sounds amazing! I hope to hear about some fun moments from the Mini Golf Masters. It would be great to see a windmill hat for the winner! Don’t forget calories don’t count on girl trips, so go wild with the seafood.”
I’m looking forward to sharing about my trip as well.
MP from Virginia writes: “It sounds like your Myrtle Beach trip was great! Just a tip: the Carolina Beach Music Awards are taking place the weekend of November 6-8. Consider planning a trip around that!”
Jim B. writes: “Do you think Cindy Brunson’s comments led to her husband being let go from the D-Backs announcing role?”
Amber:
For context, Jim is referring to Steve Berthiaume, who parted ways with the Diamondbacks after 14 seasons, though technically his contract just wasn’t renewed.
While I can’t speculate on whether his wife’s remarks influenced that decision, Steve did express to a publication that he was surprised and disappointed about the outcome.
Tough break indeed.
