Haley Van Liss sealed her big night with a kiss from her biggest supporters on Monday in the 2025 WNBA Draft.
Shortly after being selected 11th overall by Chicago Sky, the former TCU Horn Frog star hugged Orlando Magic guard boyfriend Jalen Thugs as Yahoo Sports captured a couple kissing inside a New York shed venue.
Van Lis has a solid run in TCU and is eligible for fifth and final year, averaging 15.2 points per game, 4.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists.
The move to Chicago will reunite former LSU teammate Angel Reese, Sky’s seventh overall selection last year, with the 23-year-old security guard.
“We haven’t done it right for the first time.” Posted by Reese Monday at X.
Van Liss, who began his college career in Louisville in 2020, moved to LSU for the 2023-24 season, following the Lady Tigers’ National Championship victory at the 2023 NCAA Tournament.
Van Liss saw a decline in production compared to his previous season in Louisville. She averaged 19.7 points per game.
In his only season at Baton Rouge, Vanlis averaged 11.6 and 3.6 points per game.
She was transferred to TCU last April after LSU was bounced back from the Elite Eight by Iowa.
Van Lis and Suggs, 23, are believed to have started dating around 2021, the same year the 2021 Gonzaga Bulldogs were selected fifth overall by the 2021 NBA Draft Magic.
He averaged 16.2 points per game this season before being closed for the year in March after undergoing knee surgery.
Suggs caught up with the score On Monday, he revealed he wanted to team up with Van Lis in the dream 2-2 matchup between teammates Paolo Banchelo and Dallas Wings rookie Page Bookers.
“I think we’ll take that,” Suggs said. “I’m totally confident in us.”
