Haley calls for Biden to be fired over Austin controversy

Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley called on President Biden to fire him Monday night after the Pentagon did not disclose Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin's hospitalization until days later.

“I think Biden should be removed from office,” she said at a Fox News town hall in Iowa. “I can't believe this situation is happening. When the crisis happened in South Carolina, we were dealing with everything, and I had to deal with the adjutant general. . I was on the phone with him every day, twice a day.”

“There's a war in Europe, there's a war in the Middle East. North Korea has tested an intercontinental ballistic missile that could hit the United States. China is advancing. First of all, Biden talks to the Secretary of Defense every day. The problem lies in the fact that they are not doing so,” she continued.

Haley's comments came after the Pentagon did not reveal Austin's hospitalization until days after the elective medical procedure caused health problems that remained unknown even to Biden and other administration officials. The announcement comes as Austin and the Biden administration have come under increased scrutiny.

Former President Trump called for Austin to be fired in a post on his platform TruthSocial, but national security spokesman John Kirby said Monday that the White House has no plans to do so.

“We have no plans other than for Secretary Austin to remain in office and continue the leadership he has shown,” Kirby said.
