Haley camp mocks Trump ‘meltdown,’ pitches return to ‘normalcy’

Former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley's campaign on Wednesday went after former President Trump over his “meltdown” victory speech after Tuesday's New Hampshire primary.

President Trump's rambling victory monologue after her strong showing in the Granite State included repeated jabs at Haley, including mocking her own concession speech earlier in the evening.

Haley's campaign described the speech as a “tantrum.”

“Last night, Donald Trump reminded voters that they have a choice between two diametrically opposed visions: to destabilize America again, or to make America normal again,” Haley press secretary Natchama Soloveitchik said in a statement. It's up to you.''

“Like Joe Biden, Trump is completely obsessed with his own constant drama and frustration,” she continued. “Americans want a leader focused on securing the border, stopping China, and fighting the inflation that both Trump and Biden have caused, not social media meltdowns.”

Trump performed well in New Hampshire on Tuesday, winning about 54% of the vote, meeting expectations for an 11-point victory over Haley.

Speaking shortly after voting closed on Tuesday, Haley found a silver lining in the performance, calling it a “great night.”

“New Hampshire is the first in the nation. It's not the last in the nation. This race isn't over yet. There are still dozens of states left,” she said.

President Trump directly criticized Haley's positive attitude in his victory speech, saying she could not “get away with bullshit.”

“Let's not give someone a win when she had a very bad night. She had a very bad night,” President Trump said.

The former South Carolina governor has vowed to remain in the race at least through his home state's primary at the end of February, but his finish in New Hampshire has fueled speculation about the future of the race.
