Former U.N. Ambassador and South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley promoted a prominent conservative military leader in her latest Republican presidential campaign ad aimed at New Hampshire voters just weeks after the Granite State primary.
General Don Bolduc, the 2022 Republican candidate for a New Hampshire Senate seat, maintains a reputation as a well-known conservative throughout the state. Bolduc has denied the results of the 2020 presidential election, advocated for strict anti-abortion laws, and spread misinformation about the coronavirus. “I'll always be a MAGA,” says a military officer.
“I've always been America First,” he says in the ad. “But this time, I support Nikki Haley for president. She's tough on the border, she's tough on China. She has a real plan.”
Bolduc, a former Army brigadier general, lost the 2022 Senate election to incumbent Sen. Maggie Hassan (D.N.H.).he spread before Baseless theory that the 2020 election was illegally stolen from former President Donald Trump later reverse the position and sway about his position on election results.
“With President Trump, there are too many distractions. Too many risks of losing,” Bolduc said in an ad endorsing Haley. “Nicki is a strong conservative. She will take Joe Biden to the cleaners and make this country proud.”
The spot will air across the state on television and digital platforms.
Bolduc backed up his statement with a link to the ad in a post on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
“It's time to forget the turmoil and drama of the past.” he wrote.
“Nicki attracts all kinds of Granite State voters, from former Trump supporters to grassroots Republicans to independents. That's a surefire way to defeat Joe Biden in a landslide, and every poll shows She has indicated that she will do so,” a spokesperson for Haley said in an email to The Hill.
New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu, a Republican who supported Haley and appeared on the campaign trail with her, previously called Bolduc a “conspiracy extremist.” on local radio interview.
Meanwhile, Haley raised eyebrows earlier this week when she said New Hampshire voters would “fix” the results of the Jan. 19 Iowa caucuses.
“You know Iowa starts it. You know you're fixing it,” she said during a campaign stop in the Granite State on Wednesday.
According to the Decision Desk Headquarters/Hill Polling average for the Granite State Republican primary, Ms. Haley trails Ms. Trump by 11.9 percentage points, with her average being 29.7% compared to the former president's 41.6%.
